The last few weeks on WWE RAW have been complicated for Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. Once brothers-in-arms, the duo had a heated verbal altercation last week. However, on last night’s edition of Monday Night RAW, Kingston and Woods shockingly turned heel, as they kicked out Big E from The New Day.
While Big E, who had been away from WWE programming since March 2022 due to injury-related issues, returned to try and keep The New Day together, Kingston and Woods insulted him and removed him from the faction. These actions by Kingston and Woods could lead to them paying a heavy price at the 2025 Royal Rumble.
As of now, Big E hasn’t been cleared to return to the ring. However, considering the former WWE Champion’s relentless desire to return to the squared circle, there is a chance he may return at some point. If that’s the case, Big E could make his in-ring return at the 2025 Royal Rumble and eliminate Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.
While the angle is speculative, doing something along these lines will be ideal, as this will allow Big E to seek revenge on Kingston and Woods for their actions on RAW last night. If something along these lines does take place, it will be interesting to see how Kingston and Woods react to it.
Wrestling veteran claimed Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods’ segment with Big E made no sense
As mentioned above, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods ended up humiliating their former stablemate, Big E, on last night’s episode of RAW. The New Day members accused the former WWE Champion of not having their back after the 38-year-old suffered and recovered from a broken neck.
While the segment was painful to watch for The New Day fans, who hoped that the members would stay together, a wrestling veteran recently mentioned the entire segment made no sense. During an episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Legion of RAW, Vince Russo spoke about the segment and said:
“That Kofi-Woods thing made zero sense. My God, bro! The dude broke his freaking neck, and you want me to believe that two of his closest friends are gonna cut a promo on him because he broke his neck? That was beyond unbelievable!” [From 11:02 onwards]

With The New Day’s 10th anniversary ending in Big E’s departure, it will be interesting to see how the careers of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods progress from here.
