Paul Heyman, known as “The Wise Man” of The Bloodline, recently shared his insights on the “Tetragrammaton” podcast hosted by Rick Rubin. The conversation delved deep into the world of professional wrestling, with a particular focus on Roman Reigns’ hiatus from WWE in 2018 due to Leukemia.

Heyman revealed the fear that surrounded Reigns’ hiatus, stating, “Nobody knew how sick he [Reigns] was. The assumption was that he had control over it. The belief was that it was treatable and that he would return. But we’re talking about an unpredictable ailment that can take a sudden turn for the worse, potentially leaving the world and his family in mourning. So, in truth, nobody knew.”

The hiatus, according to Heyman, had a profound impact on Reigns. “It gave him a greater appreciation of life. I’m sure it made him more aware of his own mortality. I’m sure it made him more grateful for the blessings that he has.”
