Former WWE Champion Makes Serious Allegations Against Vince McMahon
Rob Van Dam made serious accusations against Vince McMahon during his appearance on Busted Open Radio. The WWE Hall of Famer claims that McMahon bought ECW with the deliberate intention of destroying its legacy.
“When WWE brought ECW back, there were several occasions where it seemed clear that they were only doing it to destroy it. I mean, Vince McMahon used the ECW title, but just to mock it. To me, they were making a statement that they didn’t want anything that had the essence of ECW, they wanted new talent,” stated RVD.
According to RVD, one of the main reasons was McMahon’s frustration with the “ECW!” chants during WWE shows. ECW, founded in 1994 under Paul Heyman’s management, was bought by WWE in 2003 and operated as its own brand from 2006 to 2010 through the weekly show ECW on Sci-Fi.
RVD made his last WWE appearance on the November 6 episode of NXT, where he assisted Je’Von Evans in his victory against Wes Lee.
