3 Things we learned as John Cena kicked off his WWE retirement tour on RAW’s Netflix debut

John Cena appeared on the RAW premiere on Netflix tonight to kick off his retirement tour, which will last through December 2025. The Cenation Leader addressed the WWE Universe and revealed some of his plans for his farewell tour.

The 16-time World Champion thanked the fans and welcomed the company’s move to Netflix, which marks a new era for WWE. At the same time, he also gave some hints on what’s next for him now that he is back in the business for his farewell tour.

With that in mind, we look at three things we learned from his segment on the RAW premiere on Netflix.

#3. John Cena revealed the last time he won a match in WWE

During his segment, John Cena said that he was not optimistic about his ability to become World Champion for a record 17th time and explained it by revealing the number of days since the last time he won a match.

It has been more than 2,400 days since the last time that The Cenation Leader won a singles match in WWE. This means more than seven years, which is quite a long time, as Cena became a part-time wrestler and occasionally appeared in WWE.

He mentioned his losing streak, though, to show that he has to find a way to get back on track if he wants to become champion again and make history before he retires from WWE.

#2. He named a few of his future opponents

John Cena will face some of the top stars in the business during his farewell tour. There is no doubt about it. He named a few when he kicked off his retirement tour, and what remains to be seen is who he will face next.

Cena named Drew McIntyre, the reigning World Heavyweight Champion Gunther, Logan Paul, CM Punk, and the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes as some of the top WWE stars he could face during his retirement tour.

McIntyre and Paul have already expressed their desire to fight Cena during his farewell tour, while Guntherand Rhodes hold the major titles in WWE. As for CM Punk, Cena has unfinished business with The Best in the World since the summer of 2011 when they fought for the WWE Championship.

#1. John Cena declared his entry for Royal Rumble

After expressing his doubts about his ability to win a World Title again, The Cenation Leader revealed some alternatives that would allow him to claim the record 17th World Championship.

He went with the Money in the Bank briefcase and the Elimination Chamber only to announce that he would participate in the Royal Rumble Match. Not only that, but he also said he would win it.

Whether this will happen remains to be seen, but WWECreative could follow that path since this will be the last time that John Cena will compete at the Royal Rumble. Should he win, he will get a title match at WrestleMania 41 with the opportunity to make history at the Grandest Stage of Them All.
