3-time WWE champion to quit SmackDown following damaging loss? Exploring potential departure
This week’s episode of SmackDown is already stacked with two title matches set to take place. Meanwhile, one of those matches could signal the end of a major star’s WWEcareer.
Ahead of this week’s tag team championship match, Montez Ford cut a promo and made it clear that it was “Championship or bust.” It’s unclear if that meant that he would split from Angelo Dawkins since it has been four years since the two men have won titles as The Street Profits or if he would quit the blue brand.
The three-time WWE champion’s wife, Bianca Belair, is one-half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions, and since she is brand fluid, it would allow him to quit SmackDown and head over to RAW in the same way that Jey Uso did in 2023.
Ford could then prove that he could make it as a singles star on the red brand just in time for the move over to Netflix. Ford has been pushing for a shot at a singles title for several weeks, and his promos have been filled with frustration based on his current position in WWE.
Montez Ford could be a success story on WWE RAW
Jey Uso has already proved that RAW is the place of opportunity, and a star who was only known as a tag team wrestler can have some success. It depends on how Ford is pushed, but it’s a formula that he could be looking to follow.
Ford could also turn heel, and if B-Fab goes to the red brand with him, then the duo could work well against several of the current face stars who are being overlooked, including Otis, Braun Strowman, Seth Rollins, and even Sheamus.
It all depends on this title match on SmackDown; if The Street Profits wins, then he would have no reason to leave, but a loss might break the team apart.
