30-year-old star still signed with AEW amid lengthy hiatus [Reports]

A report has just surfaced regarding an AEW name’s status with the company, following a hiatus from an injury suffered more than eight months ago. It seems that the individual is still recovering from her serious shoulder injury.

Kiera Hogan is a member of the roster that floats between AEW and ROH. In early 2024, she frequently competed on the latter, even joining the tournament to crown the inaugural Women’s TV Champion. In February, she had a match in the Jacksonville-based promotion, where she took on Deonna Purrazzo in a losing effort on Collision.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select was asked regarding her current contract status, and whether she remained signed with AEW and ROH. He reported that that was still the case, and she was still on a hiatus due to the shoulder injuryshe is dealing with.

WCW veteran Konnan felt like Kiera Hogan had potential in AEW

In 2022, Kiera Hogan was part of Jade Cargill’s stable, The Baddies. This included her, Red Velvet, and Leila Grey. The group was together for just under a year, with each member being “fired” by Cargill.

In November 2022 on the Keepin’ It 100 podcast, former WCW veteran Konnan talked about the stable and how he only saw potential in Hogan. He could not find a reason for both Leila Grey and Red Velvet to remain in the group, and he felt that Jade did not need them. Ultimately he felt that the former TBS Champion should remain solo, which indeed ended up happening.

“I just thought, out of the three girls, the only one that I see potential in is Kiera Hogan. The other girl, Leila Grey, I don’t see nothing in her and she [Cargill] doesn’t need her and then they brought back [Red] Velvet cake who I think s*cks too […] Who I also think s*cks and I don’t know why she’s in that fu**ing group [Baddies],” Konnan said. As of now, there is no timetable regarding Kiera Hogan’s possible return to in-ring action. It is also unclear whether she’ll head back to ROH to continue her run there, or potentially start one with AEW or appear at both.
