The Rock opened WWE RAW’s Netflix premiere on January 6, 2025. Addressing the crowd gathered at the Inuit Dome in Los Angeles, The Final Boss revealed several new things.
Here are four things we have learned from the segment of The People’s Champ.
#4. The Final Boss is no longer a heel
One of the biggest highlights of the Road to WrestleMania XL was the massive heel character played by The Rock. He had singlehandedly brought a lot of attention to the programming, at times overshadowing the rivalry between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes as The Final Boss.
However, instead of hurling insults and asserting his authority, he acknowledged several people and appreciated them instead.
The last time The Brahma Bull made a WWE appearance at Bad Blood, he had hinted that he would be coming for Reigns and Cody Rhodes. However, The Most Entertaining Man in all Entertainment has now seemingly given up his heel persona.
#3. The Rock quietly quashed his beef with Cody Rhodes
The Rock had completely dominated Cody Rhodes during the buildup to WrestleMania XL. He got The American Nightmare’s blood on his belt and would have prevented him from finishing his story had The Undertaker not chokeslammed him.
However, upon his babyface turn, The People’s Champ quashed his beef with Rhodes and said that he has carried WWE on his back for a year now.
After Cody Rhodes became the Undisputed WWE Champion, The Rock highlighted that he still had unfinished business with him. However, it seems that The Final Boss has mellowed down now. Nonetheless, he did tease The American Nightmare and asked him to say hi to Mama Rhodes.
#2. The Rock may not participate in WrestleMania 41
The WWE Universe had been speculating how The Rock would head to WrestleMania 41 and which opponent he would be facing for months. The Brahma Bull’s most probable opponent for the Las Vegas event was Cody Rhodes. However, he hugged the possibility out on RAW’s Netflix premiere.
The second-most probable opponent for The People’s Champ was Roman Reigns. Fans have eagerly waited for a one-on-one clash between the stars for a very long time. However, by putting the Ula Fala around The OTC’s neck, The Final Boss has also seemingly ended that possibility.
Thus, it is very likely that he will miss WrestleMania 41 unless he picks up a feud with someone at the 2025 Royal Rumble.
#1. The Final Boss is the High Chief of Samoa
During the entrance of The Rock, commentators Michael Cole and Pat McAfee revealed that he was the High Chief of Samoa. Ahead of his return to WWE RAW, he had talked about his Samoan roots in a post where he confirmed his appearance for the January 6, 2025 show.
“I gave my word and made a commitment 20 years ago to his Highness High Chief Maleatoa Tunamafili II and to our people of Samoa, that I would ‘leave my boyish ways behind’ and carry my Samoan, Polynesian, and Black culture around the world with great respect, pride, kindness, MANA, humility, and warrior spirit,” The High Chief posted on his X account.
The way The Rock ended all future possibilities of a comeback, it seems he would be away from WWE for a considerable amount of time. Moreover, his next return could see him come back with a completely new storyline. It would be interesting to see what lies in the future for The Final Boss.
