4 Top WWE Superstars who are likely to miss Survivor Series - 2x WarGames participant, fan-favorite champion

WWE Survivor Series: WarGames 2024 is shaping up to be a star-studded affair. That speaks volumes about the depth of the current roster since a lot of top wrestlers will likely miss the premium live event.

The upcoming event will feature Roman Reigns participating in his second WarGames bout. Fan favorites Jey Uso and Sami Zayn will be entering the gruesome match as a team for the third consecutive year. On top of that, Gunther, Damian Priest, Bianca Belair, and Liv Morgan are supposed to be in action too.

With that being said, multiple upper mid-card and main-event WWE Superstars will most likely miss out on the Survivor Series: WarGames 2024 Premium Live Event. Below are four of them.

#4. Logan Paul

Over two years have passed since Logan Paul signed with WWE. So far, he has performed on every Big 4 PLE except Survivor Series: WarGames. That might not change this year either.

The Maverick has been off TV since dropping the United States Championship to LA Knight at SummerSlam 2024. While many fans had grown tired of Paul’s title run by the time it was over, there is no denying that he will win them back with his awe-inducing aerial maneuvers the next time he steps foot inside the ring.

Moreover, it makes sense not to rush his return. Only two SmackDown episodes are remaining until the highly anticipated event, and that is not enough time to build up a high-profile match for the social media megastar. On top of that, all top-level stars on the blue brand are currently engaged in different storylines.

#3. WWE United States Champion LA Knight

Over three months have passed since LA Knight dethroned Logan Paul to become the new United States Champion. So far, he has met, if not exceeded, fans’ expectations of him being a fighting champion.

Earlier this month at Crown Jewel 2024, The Megastar successfully defended his title against Andrade and Carmelo Hayes. The three workhorses of SmackDown had been feuding since the summer, so it made sense for their program to culminate in a match at a PLE.

Knight seemingly entered into a feud with the returning Shinsuke Nakamura. However, there is a solid chance they might not clash at Survivor Series: WarGames 2024. It would make more sense for Triple H to add an Intercontinental Championship match or a tag team title match to the card instead since those belts have not been defended at a PLE in months.

#2. Randy Orton

Last year at Survivor Series: WarGames, Randy Orton sent shockwaves across the industry by making his triumphant return from a career-threatening injury.

Fast forward to this year’s Survivor Series, and all signs are pointing to The Viper having a night off. Interestingly, his absence would make sense, given how big of a deal WWE made out of the Piledriver that Kevin Owens hit Orton with.

There is no doubt that the 14-time World Champion’s feud with his former ally is far from over. However, the upcoming PLE might not be the best point to resume this rivalry. After all, the longer Orton stays out of action, the more menacing Owens will look as he resettles into his spot as a top heel.

#1. Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre has been one of the best all-around WWE Superstars this year. The fact that he consistently held his own in a lengthy, obstacle-filled feud against the legendary CM Punk must have silenced anyone who still doubted him.

The Scottish Warrior has not been seen on WWE TV since losing the gruesome Hell in a Cell Match against the Second City Saint at Bad Blood 2024. So, with only two more episodes of RAW left until Survivor Series: WarGames 2024, it is all but a guarantee that McIntyre will not be showing up at the upcoming PLE.

To be fair, the follow-up to his iconic feud with CM Punk should be handled properly. A rushed program just to get Drew on the Survivor Series: WarGames 2024 card would not do justice to his tremendous work this year. So, he would be better off returning after the PLE, which appears to be the most likely scenario.
