WWE Announces Women’s United States Championship on SmackDown
WWE announced the creation of the Women’s United States Championship during the SmackDown on November 8, held at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York.
Nick Aldis, SmackDown General Manager, unveiled the new championship in a pre-recorded backstage video. This event comes following the recent introduction of the Women’s North American Championship in NXT.
The championship is announced after many requests from the Pro Wrestling community for more women’s championship opportunities on the main roster.
On X (formerly Twitter), Triple H commented on Aldis’s announcement:
“The women of WWE continue to show that they are the very best in the business. The Women’s United States Championship will showcase their continued effort. So, who’s going to step up and take it?”
