SmackDown Star Insults Fans Who Don’t See Austin Theory as WWE’s Future

Even though Austin Theory’s victory over John Cena at WrestleMania 39 didn’t receive the reaction WWE anticipated, he has demonstrated significant growth over the past year. His tag team partner, Grayson Waller, came to the defense of the former WWE Tag Team Champion during an appearance on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet.

“I’m really grateful for Austin Theory,” Waller said. “He’s an amazing tag team partner and one of the most underrated athletes in the business. People don’t get it now, but they will. Austin Theory has everything it takes to become the biggest name in the company. There’s a reason he’s always in the ring with Randy Orton, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, and John Cena. And if you idiots don’t see it now, you’ll realize it eventually.”

Theory and Waller captured the WWE Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania XL this past April and continue to be a key part of the tag team division on Friday Night SmackDown.

Waller’s comment comes at a time when Theory is gaining more recognition for his progress in the ring, even though his victory over John Cena at WrestleMania 39 didn’t have the impact he hoped for with the fans.
