Roman Reigns, CM Punk announced by WWE for next SmackDown
WWE announced several additions to this week’s SmackDown during the November 25 episode of RAW, headlined by a face-to-face confrontation between CM Punk and Roman Reigns ahead of Survivor Series: WarGames 2024.
The tension between both superstars escalated after Paul Heyman’s shocking return on the November 22 episode of SmackDown, where he named CM Punk as the fifth member of The OG Bloodline for the WarGames Match. This marked Heyman’s first television appearance since June when The Bloodline attacked him and put him through a table.
The upcoming confrontation will be their first meeting since being confirmed as partners for the WarGames Match, where The OG Bloodline faces The New Bloodline and Bronson Reed.
WWE also announced a singles match between “Main Event” Jey Uso and Jacob Fatu, with the winner’s team gaining the numerical advantage in the WarGames Match at Survivor Series.
Paul Heyman’s return shifts power dynamic in Bloodline saga
The landscape of the Bloodline story changed dramatically on the November 22 episode of SmackDown when Paul Heyman made his unexpected return. Before the revelation, Solo Sikoa attempted to persuade Roman Reigns to join The New Bloodline, consisting of Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Bronson Reed, promising a decade of WWE dominance.
Heyman’s interruption led to the surprise announcement of CM Punk as the equalizing fifth member for The OG Bloodline. The segment concluded with Punk and Reigns sharing an intense staredown while Heyman observed from the apron, setting the stage for this week’s confrontation.
