Mark Henry points out the “one weakness” holding back second-generation WWE star
WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry recently commented on a second-generation star who is looking to make it big in the company. He recently had a character change.
Lexis King signed with WWE in 2023 after trying his luck in the independent circuit, MLW and AEW. He was assigned to the NXT brand, where he is still looking to become a notable name.
Mark Henry seems to be big on the 31-year-old heel, who still has much to do to get fans behind him. With the Iron Survivor Challenge coming up at NXT Deadline, Speaking on Busted Open, Henry said he wants to see Lexis King qualify and win the Iron Survivor contest.
“I love the energy that Lexis King is getting. He makes you want to see him get beat, you see the manipulation, he gets it,” Henry said on Busted Open. “It’s just a matter of getting everybody to believe that you got it and that’s the one weakness I feel that he has,” Henry said. Mark Henry pointed out that King had to work hard to make people believe in him. The second-generation superstar could work on his skills to become a top name in the company.
Lexis King will face Eddy Thorpe, Cedric Alexander, and Axiom in the final qualifying match for the Iron Survivor Challenge. A win would allow him to compete against Je’Von Evans, Ethan Page, Nathan Frazer, and Wes Lee for the NXT Championship.
Mark Henry recently praised Ridge Holland’s development in WWE NXT
Ridge Holland has the looks to become a top star in WWE. However, his average mic skills, coupled with some bad luck, held him down in the company.
After returning to NXT from the main roster, Holland has done increasingly well under Shawn Michaels’s leadership. He will face Trick Williams for the NXT Championship at Deadline.
Speaking on Busted Open, Mark Henry praised Ridge Holland’s development on NXT. He stated that the superstar had finally found his footing on the roster.
“I think the number one thing is his confidence. A lot of times in pro wrestling, if you don’t believe in you, how do you expect somebody else to?” Henry pointed out. “He’s found his footing. He always looked the part, but he always looked kind of like self-conscious about either how he was looking or how he was sounding,” said the WWE legend.
It’s great to see how well WWE Superstars can polish their skills after moving to NXT. The developmental brand has undoubtedly done a lot of good to many main roster stars over the years.
