AEW International Champion Konosuke Takeshita has had a memorable last few days in Japan. The face of the Don Callis Family competed at NJPW’s two latest pay-per-views, where he enjoyed immense support from his home crowd.
At NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 19, The Alpha dethroned Shingo Takagi to become the new NEVER Openweight Champion.
The very next day, the 29-year-old star successfully defended his newly won championship against Tomohiro Ishii at Wrestle Dynasty 2025. It was a hard-hitting contest, filled with brutal strikes and shocking kickouts.
During the post-match press conference, Takeshita made a massive revelation about his future.
As disclosed by Takeshita himself, The Alpha has now signed an official contract with New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Interestingly, the reigning NEVER Openweight Champion is already an official member of the AEW and DDT PRO rosters.
Konosuke Takeshita is now set to work for three major wrestling promotions, which has certainly elevated his status to a great extent. Since he already holds the AEW International Championship, fans could expect the 29-year-old star to take up more wrestling assignments from across the globe.
After securing a hard-fought victory against The Stone Pitbull at Wrestle Dynasty, it would be intriguing to see who The Alpha goes up against next.
