AEW producer deletes post defending Tony Khan against recent backlash

An AEW producer has deleted a post defending Tony Khan against recent backlash. This will no doubt intrigue the fans, given how volatile the situation has become in the last few days.

The producer in question is Tony Schiavone, who had some harsh words for NJPW commentator Chris Charlton. New Japan Pro-Wrestling just had one of its biggest weekends of the year with Wrestle Kingdom and Wrestle Dynasty at the Tokyo Dome. During the latter event, a lot of AEW stars participated, but there was also some controversy.

During the show, Charlton took shots at Tony Khan, referring to him as a ‘money mark’ and criticizing his signing of NJPW legend Kazuchika Okada. Recent reports came out saying the commentator was suspended for two months after these comments.

Tony Schiavone also called him out in a now-deleted tweet and openly defended Tony Khan. He wrote:

“Hey @reasonjp speaking for all us in AEW, GFY. And speaking for all of us who have been around you, take a shower once in a while.”

Tony Schiavone praises AEW star Toni Storm

Toni Storm is a woman of many talents. The former Women’s World Champion recently changed her persona and is now back to the one she had during her time in WWE.

Tony Schiavone sees her perform on a weekly basis and has gone on to say great things about her. He was speaking on his What Happened When podcast when he called her one of the top five women wrestlers of all time.

“Toni is probably top five of the best women wrestlers, one of the best women wrestlers I’ve ever seen, as far as her in-ring work too. She is absolutely killing it. Toni Storm is a quality person that you want to see prosper, want to see get ahead,” Schiavone said.

That is some great praise indeed, and Toni Storm will no doubt have enjoyed hearing that. It will be interesting to see if she will have anything to say to Schiavone after this.
