An AEW star claimed he is done using a social media platform. Twitter has been a crucial platform in the pro wrestling industry as it helps promote events and bouts. The star who recently quit Twitter was Top Flight’s Dante Martin.
Top Flight has been a fan favorite tag team in the Jacksonville-based promotion. They have had acclaimed matches with many top duos in the company. Despite their best efforts, they never captured tag team gold. Last year, they formed an alliance with Lio Rush and Action Andretti. However, the team of four is no longer on the same page since Jon Moxley gave them a reality check a few months ago.
On the latest edition of Collision, Dante wrestled in a 100,000 Dollar High-Speed Collision Four-Way match against Brian Cage, The Beast Mortos, and Komander. Lio and Action showed their presence during the bout, which led to a huge distraction. Cage won the highly athletic contest.
Following his Collision loss, Dante Martin took to Twitter and claimed that he would no longer be active on the platform. However, this may not be a permanent exit from the social media site as he teased his return in a ‘few months.’
“This concludes my Twitter usage. See y’all in a few months.”
AEW star Malakai Black reveals he once requested to work with Dante Martin
Dante Martin has found success as a singles wrestler. While his partner Darius was injured, he was booked in multiple singles contests. He faced the House of Black leader in 2021 on AEW Dynamite.
While speaking on Knotfest, Malakai Black claimed that he had requested to face Dante to teach him slow-paced wrestling.
“Top Flight, I love those boys, very very unique, that’s also one of the reasons why I requested to work with Dante [Martin] at the time because I knew I could have—I could give him something he hadn’t had prior to that, and that was someone slowing him down and forcing him to sell,” he said.
It will be interesting to see if Dante Martin and his partner win the AEW World Tag Team Championship in 2025.
