AEW star Jeff Jarrett made a huge announcement regarding his career on Dynamite: Fight for the Fallen. He announced the signing of his last contract with Tony Khan’s promotion, signifying his impending retirement. Ryback recently came to the defense of the legend on X/Twitter.
While the wrestling universe was happy to see Jarrett re-sign with All Elite Wrestling, many naysayers have voiced dissatisfaction with the news. Jarrett has been a legend of the industry and was instrumental in starting TNA. He also served in several major backstage roles in WWE and AEW and has been widely considered one of the great minds in the business.
A fan on X insulted and even deemed him a failure in a recent post. The fan stated that Jarrett had burnt his bridges with WWE and booked himself into winning over wrestlers more talented than he was. However, former WWE star Ryback did not take kindly to the comments and fired back at the person online. The star stated that The Last Outlaw was a legend and had contributed immensely to the business.
“Jeff Jarrett is a legend with an incredible career spanning decades, contributing as a wrestler, promoter, and businessman. Attempting to tear down someone with so much dedication to wrestling reflects the toxic negativity that holds the community back. Wrestling is about celebrating what you love, not obsessing over what you don’t. If you don’t like something, focus on what you do—and leave the rest. Respect the effort and legacy of those who’ve given their lives to the business. He’s literally thriving in his late 50’s, find something else like your pathetic life to dwell on.”
