An AEW star has revealed some heartbreaking news about his time away due to health issues and revealed that he had lost his friends during the ordeal. This is certain to influence how this star will view the wrestling landscape now that he’s back.
AEW has had a lot of stars since its inception that have gone on to have great impact. Some of them have left lasting legacies but none come close to Kenny Omega. The Cleaner has seen it all. From the highest of highs to the lowest of lows, the former AEW World Champion has been through the motions.
He recently made an emphatic in-ring comeback at Wrestle Dynasty when he defeated Gabe Kidd in a hard-hitting match after more than a year out on the sidelines. After the match, he cut a backstage promo and spoke out about the struggles he faced during his time out. He said:
“I always wondered what kind of person I am going to be when I come back. What kind of person I am going to be after two feet of my intestines were taken from me. I have lost friends. I have lost allies. I have lost family. One thing I didn’t lose was the support of you people. You always reminded me that I had a place to call home in AEW.” [1:27 – 1:50]

Kenny Omega fires a warning to the AEW locker room
In the same promo, Kenny Omega also spoke about the fans and fired a warning shot to the entire locker room. He also spoke about how he had changed both physically and mentally after this break but was sure this new version of himself was back for good and he was here to stay.
“So for you fans, I want to thank you. This is what I give to the business. This is what I give to you. It’s been a year. Physically, I have changed. Mentally, I have changed. How could I not? But like it or not, whatever this new version of Kenny Omega is, he is back. AEW, like it or not, I am back. Goodbye and good night,” he said. [1:50 – 2:26]
Given that what he sent out was a resounding message to the locker room, it will be interesting to see how the general reaction will be come Dynamite this Wednesday.
