AEW Veteran Issues Apology After Double or Nothing Loss

After the AEW Double or Nothing 2025, Dustin Rhodes issued an apology on social media after he and Sammy Guevara, The Sons of Texas, were defeated in a high-stakes match. The duo, who are reigning ROH World Tag Team Champions, had sought to add the AEW World Tag Team Championship to their accolades.

The Sons of Texas challenged The Hurt Syndicate, represented by Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin, for the AEW World Tag Team Championship. This championship bout followed a period where MJF actively pursued membership in The Hurt Syndicate, undertaking weekly efforts to impress the faction, culminating in his official induction days prior to the event.

The match at Double or Nothing was a violent encounter. Dustin Rhodes endured significant punishment from The Hurt Syndicate. MJF played a substantial role in the outcome. After multiple near falls, Shelton Benjamin secured the pinfall victory over Sammy Guevara.

Following the contest, Dustin Rhodes posted on X/Twitter, stating, “Sorry, feel like I let yall down!” His message conveyed regret over the inability to defeat the reigning AEW World Tag Team Champions.
