Aleister Black Returning At WWE Royal Rumble To Reignite Feud With Former World Heavyweight Champion?

Rumors suggest Aleister Black could make his WWE return at the 2025 Royal Rumble following speculation about his AEW contract status. Sources indicate Black’s agreement with AEW may have expired, potentially allowing him to appear at the February 1 event in Indianapolis.

Black’s potential return could impact Seth Rollins’ Royal Rumble aspirations, as Rollins joins CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, and Roman Reigns as declared participants. The speculation centers around unresolved issues between Black and Rollins stemming from July 27, 2020, when Rollins and Buddy Murphy targeted Black’s eye during an assault, before Dominik Mysterio intervened.

This history suggests Black could target Rollins during the Royal Rumble match, potentially setting up a confrontation at WrestleMania 41.

Seth Rollins Reflects On WrestleMania XL Impact

Seth Rollins shared his thoughts about WWE’s direction during an appearance on Chris Van Vliet’s Insight podcast.

I’m in this weird space where I feel, especially after WrestleMania this past year in Philadelphia. I had this sense of accomplishment, but in a way that I had never experienced before. I felt, ‘Oh, I’m good.’ If I stopped tomorrow, I’m good. Everything that I wanted to do, I’m good.

Rollins also discussed WWE’s evolution under Triple H’s leadership:

WrestleMania was this moment where we took the business into a different [level]. It was the first WrestleMania that Triple H was really in control over. I felt like a big part of it. I felt like we ushered in a new era of WWE. Business was amazing, WrestleMania in Vegas is going to be even bigger. It just feels like everything is fresh and new in WWE, whereas the previous ten years felt like a real fight to get to that point.
