WWE presented another Friday Night SmackDown featuring a Triple Threat Match in the Women’s United States Championship Tournament, where Bayley faced Candice LeRae and B-Fab, emerging victorious from the contest.

During his appearance on Smack Talk, Dutch Mantell expressed his dissatisfaction with the match format. The former manager suggested that Triple Threat Matches are only used to give TV time to talents who normally don’t get regular programming space.

“I’m not a fan of triple threat matches, to begin with. It was like the Triple Threat was just there to put somebody on TV. Who did she beat? B-Fab? I don’t think it helped anybody, really. I mean, Bayley winning, I don’t even think it helped her. But you can cover 8 minutes with that. It was going to be a good match, and I think that’s why it was put there.”

The veteran acknowledged that WWE has evolved significantly since the days when it had a weak women’s division, praising the current roster. However, Mantell emphasized that none of the stars managed to make a significant impact, expressing his desire to see more uniqueness in their presentations and the emergence of new prominent names in the process.
