The adjustment reflects ongoing concerns following Big E’s cervical spine fracture, which occurred during a match with Holland in March 2022. The former WWE Champion has not returned to in-ring competition since the injury.
During the NXT Deadline match, Holland targeted Williams’ neck throughout their encounter. The modified sequence saw Williams breaking free from the attempted suplex, avoiding a situation reminiscent of the previous incident.

Separate from the injury discussion, The New Day marked their 10th anniversary on RAW with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods turning against Big E. The unexpected shift has resulted in negative crowd reactions, with chants changing from supportive to hostile toward the 12-time tag team champions.
