Dave Meltzer from Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE is considering adding a stipulation to the third match between Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. A bullrope match is among the possibilities being discussed, though no final decision has been made.
The potential rubber match would take place at Ford Field in Detroit on Saturday, August 5. Both competitors currently hold one victory over each other in their series.
Rhodes secured his win at Backlash, while Lesnar emerged victorious at Night of Champions. Their last encounter ended when Rhodes lost consciousness in Lesnar’s kimura lock while wrestling with a storyline broken arm, following an attack by his opponent.
A bullrope match, which is a variation of a strap match where competitors are bound together by a rope, could provide a definitive end to their rivalry. However, Meltzer notes that several other match types are still under consideration.
