Chelsea Green makes history as first Women’s U.S. Champion at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

Chelsea Green captured the Women’s United States Championship by defeating Michin in the tournament finals at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Her path to victory included wins over Bianca Belair and Blair Davenport in the opening rounds, followed by a semifinal triumph against Bayley.

The championship victory marks only the third title change in Saturday Night’s Main Event history. Previous title changes occurred in 1989 when The Brain Busters won the World Tag Team Championship, and in 1992 when Shawn Michaels claimed the Intercontinental Championship from British Bulldog.

This represents Green’s first singles championship in WWE since 2021. As the inaugural Women’s U.S. Champion, she now becomes the prime target for SmackDown’s roster.
