Chelsea Green reveals major project outside of WWE
WWE Superstars often branch out into Hollywood and other career paths, using their pro wrestling fame to help find success in other areas. Chelsea Green is widely regarded as one of the most well-rounded superstars on the roster, able to pull off various characters over the years. The SmackDown Superstar has just revealed a new non-WWE project.
The Hot Mess has had a successful pro wrestling career since debuting in 2014. The former TNA Knockouts World Champion has made several heel and face turns in multiple promotions, including WWE, TNA, ROH, and Lucha Underground. She received immense praise back in 2014 after debuting in WWE as Daniel Bryan’s physical therapist, which led to a spot on Tough Enough.
Green is featured in a new Christmas movie released this week on Amazon Prime Video and DVD titled A Bluegrass Christmas. The romance comedy has a run-time of 1 hour and 25 minutes and is rated TV-PG. The film also stars Shaun Johnston, Amanda Jordan, David Pinard, Rick Amsbury, Mike Shara, and John Tench, among others.
Green stars as a character named Claire Crosby. The heel SmackDown Superstar took to X to share the movie promotional cover, along with a message to her fans.
“A fun little project I worked on last year is now available to watch on @PrimeVideo [Christmas tree emoji] @Imagicomm,” Chelsea Green wrote with the photo below.
Green can be seen in the movie on broadcast in just a few weeks. A Bluegrass Christmas is scheduled to have a special televised premiere on Sunday, December 1 at 7 pm ET via UPtv. The movie follows a woman (Amanda Jordan) who is trying to save a horse sanctuary belonging to her family by convincing her retired grandfather, Bluegrass legend Ben Pendleton (Shaun Johnston), to perform a benefit Christmas concert to raise money. They are forced to navigate old wounds and growing tensions to save the sanctuary.
Chelsea Green pushing for a new WWE championship
Chelsea Green is looking to make pro wrestling history once again. She is a two-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion but is now hoping to secure her first singles championship with the company.
Nick Aldis recently introduced World Wrestling Entertainment’s new Women’s United States Championship. Several superstars have commented on how badly they wanted to become the inaugural Women’s U.S. Champion, including Green. The 33-year-old has shared countless messages of support from fans, with several of her own suggestions to make her case.
Aldis noted that the women’s division secondary championship will be coming soon, but the SmackDown General Manager did not elaborate too much. Michael Cole noted on commentary that both RAW and SmackDown Superstars can compete for the title, but it wasn’t clear if this would be a brand-specific championship.
