While Aleister Black is currently focused on settling a score with R-Truth, a recent on-screen encounter with Seth Rollins and the constant scheming of Paul Heyman have fueled speculation about a much larger role for the Dutch star. Heyman and Rollins have previously alluded to having backup plans, which once resulted in Bronson Reed joining their ranks, and a similar surprise could be in store.
The logic behind a potential alliance is rooted in history. Heyman has been a significant advocate for Black’s career for years, with a past report even indicating that he once pushed for Black to defeat Brock Lesnar. Black himself has confirmed that the WWE Hall of Famer has consistently been a supporter, establishing a strong off-screen foundation for a powerful on-screen partnership. This long-standing professional respect makes the idea of Heyman managing Black a compelling possibility.
Black’s current character direction also aligns with a potential heel turn under Heyman’s guidance. Since returning to WWE in April, he has maintained an undefeated singles record, but his demeanor has been increasingly aggressive and ambiguous. His recent attacks on R-Truth for an interruption have showcased a darker edge, moving him away from a clear babyface role. This aggressive streak, combined with his promo from May where he declared himself the “consequence” the company needs, paints the picture of a dangerous figure ready to be weaponized.
This sets the stage for a speculative, yet logical, scenario at WWE SummerSlam. The 40-year-old Black could make a shocking appearance, aligning himself with Heyman’s stable to create an unstoppable force. A key role could involve assisting Rollins in a potential cash-in of his Money in the Bank briefcase, solidifying the group’s dominance.
However, for now, this remains a compelling theory. Black’s confirmed, immediate priority is a one-on-one match against R-Truth, scheduled for the upcoming July 11 episode of Friday Night SmackDown in Nashville.
Before I forget, a special mention goes to @HeymanHustle for always having my back, and to this day acts like a mentor to me. Since day one Paul was in my corner.
