Did WWE deliberately sabotage Hulk Hogan at Netflix RAW debut?

Hulk Hogan was intensely booed during his appearance on WWE RAW on Netflix. The WWE Hall of Famer came to the main stage for a promo but received a negative reaction from the audience that surprised him.

In a recent episode of the BroDown podcast on Backstage Pass, Vince Russo commented on the crowd’s reaction to Hulk Hogan. The former WWE writer shared a theory about the incident.

Vince Russo questions Hulk Hogan’s appearance on WWE RAW

The former writer suggested that Netflix executives might have requested Hogan’s presence, and individuals connected to pro wrestling took advantage of the situation.

My theory is: Did Netflix executives want Hogan there? So the pro-wrestling people set him up, asked him to promote the beer because they knew what would happen. Either they knew, or they’re completely uninformed.

Russo also expressed his surprise with the boos directed at Jimmy Hart, who accompanied Hulk Hogan in the segment.

The most devastating thing was seeing Jimmy Hart get booed. Jimmy Hart is the closest thing I know to a saint. He had to be there and he got booed out of the arena. I felt bad for Hogan, but mostly I felt bad for Jimmy Hart.

Jim Cornette, former WWE manager, also expressed surprise at the negative crowd reaction. There is still no information about Hogan’s future appearances on WWE programming.
