Dutch Mantell firmly believes 55-year-old AEW star will eventually return to WWE

WWE veteran Dutch Mantell recently spoke about a major AEW star’s return to the Triple H-led promotion in the future. The former manager was speaking about Dustin Rhodes, who could return to WWE according to Mantell.

AEW witnessed a huge shocker when Cody Rhodes left the company to return to WWE in 2022. Many thought that his brother Dustin Rhodes would follow him back to the Stamford-based company. However, The Natural is happy in his current position in All Elite Wrestling and recently inked a new deal with Tony Khan’s promotion.

During the recent edition of the Story Time with Dutch Mantell podcast, the former WWE manager spoke about Dustin Rhodes not returning to WWE. The veteran pointed out that the rest of Cody Rhodes’ story needs Dustin Rhodes to reach its climax as both stars could tell a great story in the Stamford-based promotion.

“I do think that there’s a little bit of a run there between him and Cody [Rhodes] still because, is the story told or not? Cody went there to tell the rest of the story and when he won the [WWE] Championship, is that the rest of the story? Dustin [Rhodes] could come in and would fit right in.” [1:18:56 – 1:19:32]

Dustin Rhodes recently commented on his new AEW contract

Dustin Rhodes signed with AEW in 2019 and the veteran has stayed loyal to the promotion since. His contract with the company recently expired and many thought he could make his WWE return to reunite with his brother, Cody Rhodes. However, The Natural recently made an important announcement about his contract.

On X (fka Twitter), Dustin Rhodes revealed that he has inked a new multi-year deal with All Elite Wrestling and confirmed that he will finish his career in Tony Khan’s promotion.

“Today I have signed a new multi yr contract with @AEW. I want to thank my boss @TonyKhan for every opportunity he has given me. Since coming here and being an original since inception, I have truly had the time of my life. Everybody knows my story, and how much I have been through in all my yrs (…) I will finish my career here at #AEW as I feel it is home to me. I have never felt respected and wanted like I have here,” he wrote.

We will have to wait and see if Dustin Rhodes makes his return to WWE in the future.
