Dutch Mantell wants Tony Khan to push WWE Hall of Famer in AEW: “There’s still some money with that guy”

Wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell has urged AEW President Tony Khan to do something with a WWE Hall of Famer. Mantell believes that money can still be made with Jeff Jarrett.

On Dynamite: Fight for the Fallen on January 1, 2025, Jeff Jarrett came out and announced that he had signed a new deal with All Elite Wrestling. Furthermore, Jarrett also announced that he is eyeing the AEW World Championship in his upcoming run.

Dutch Mantell shared his thoughts on Double J re-signing with Tony Khan’s promotion. Speaking on his Story Time with Dutch Mantell podcast, the veteran said that AEW should do something with the former WWE Intercontinental Champion, as it has been impending since the latter’s debut.

“They gotta do something with Jeff; they haven’t done anything really with him since the whole time he’s been there. They pushed him a little bit when his wife came in, ‘Karen,’ but there’s still some money with that guy I think,” he said.

On being asked whether Jeff Jarrett should become a world champion in his 50s, Dutch Mantell said that The Simply Irresistible needs a credible long-term storyline for fans to “take him seriously.”

“I would come up with a story for him; I don’t know what the story… what I would have right now. But this is where they need to build on his history and his ancestry and build it up to see where they can, and you can feel the momentum of it as you go along. But I think they’d have to do a lot of repair work with Jeff to even get him to the point where people take him seriously,” he added. [0:48-1:40]
