The mystery of El Grande Americano’s future has been solved, with Ludwig Kaiser taking over the masked persona on the June 30 episode of WWE RAW. The change provides a new direction for Kaiser, who has been without a clear storyline since the dissolution of Imperium.
The reveal unfolded backstage during a segment with the American Made faction. As El Grande Americano walked past their interview, members of the group noted that he appeared “taller and thinner than usual,” a direct acknowledgment of the change in performer for the television audience.
This development comes after it was confirmed earlier in the show that the original El Grande Americano, Chad Gable, is legitimately injured and requires surgery. The switch in portrayers was further confirmed by various reports.
The substitution immediately raises questions about the status of the WWE Speed Championship, which Gable held as El Grande Americano. With Kaiser now in the role, the future of the title is uncertain, especially considering a previous report from June 24 suggested Gable might be stripped of the championship due to his injury.
