WWE has officially announced the first match for Royal Rumble 2025, a premium live event to be held on February 1st at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens will face each other in a Ladder Match for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
It all began with an ultimatum from Nick Aldis on last week’s WWE SmackDown, demanding Kevin Owens return the title he stole at Saturday Night’s Main Event after attacking Cody Rhodes. Owens agreed to speak with Aldis during the final segment of the show.
When the moment arrived, Aldis demanded Owens return the title, threatening termination from the company if he refused. Rhodes interrupted the segment, where the announcement was made.
However, Owens once again attacked Rhodes, stomping on his injured neck after pushing Aldis into him, ending this week’s show.
The list, however, raises questions as it contains 31 names. The Rock, Randy Orton, and CM Punk are among the major highlights on the list.
While the document’s authenticity is highly debatable, it’s worth noting that Cena is indeed considered the favorite to win the match, with the chance to compete for a World Championship at WrestleMania 41.
