“Following her heart” — Samantha Irvin publicly defended by WWE colleague
WWE host Jackie Redmond addressed Samantha Irvin’s recent departure from the company during her appearance on the Gabby AF podcast. Irvin announced her exit before the October 21st edition of Monday Night RAW to pursue her singing career.
“Sam right now is following her heart,” Redmond stated. “The reason she was able to be so legendary as an announcer is because she understands how to emote with her voice and she understands how to make her voice powerful.”
Redmond shared her personal experience with Irvin during her early days at Raw. “Sam is someone that on day one came up to me and made an effort to make sure that I was comfortable,” she explained. “Her and Ricochet would drive me back to the hotel after the show, just little things that go a long way.”
Irvin previously acknowledged that announcing wasn’t her passion, leading to her decision to leave WWE. Her fiancé Ricochet, now with AEW, has indicated that Irvin doesn’t plan to join the promotion.
