Former Two-Time WWE Champion Reportedly Headed To AEW

Following her WWE release earlier this year, former Women’s Tag Team Champion Isla Dawn is reportedly expected to sign with All Elite Wrestling. A report from Wrestlevotes Radio indicates that there is significant interest from AEW in the Scottish wrestler, with the belief that a deal will be finalized soon.

This development follows Dawn’s recent appearance backstage at an AEW television taping. While her specific role upon arrival has not been determined, the current expectation is that she will begin appearing on company programming in the near future.

Dawn was released by WWE in February 2025. Her final televised match for the company was a taping for WWE Speed, also in February. She first signed with WWE in 2018, initially performing on the NXT UK brand before transitioning to NXT in the United States.

Her most notable success came as part of the tag team The Unholy Union alongside Alba Fyre. The duo captured both the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship and the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Their main roster title reign began memorably in their home country at Clash at the Castle in June 2024. Following Dawn’s release, her former partner Alba Fyre remains a member of the SmackDown roster.

While a deal with AEW appears imminent, Dawn is also scheduled for an in-ring return on the independent circuit. She is booked for Northeast Wrestling’s “Wrestling Under The Stars” event on July 19, 2025.
