Former NXT North American Champion Trevor Lee discussed potential future opportunities with WWE during a recent SHAK podcast appearance. Lee departed the company in April 2024 after a brief main roster run on SmackDown.
“Life is long. I may make it back [to WWE]. ‘Cause you’d be lying to say they’re not the top of the top, right? But right now, MLW has shown the trust in me to give me this title match [against Mistico]. That really means a lot to me, to show to me that they trust in me. And I hope that I can make them happy,” Lee said.
Lee joined WWE in 2019 and captured the NXT North American Championship before moving to SmackDown in 2023. His final match took place against Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker, 11 days before his contract expired on April 23.
Lee recently made his MLW debut at Eric Bischoff’s One Shot, challenging Mistico for the World Middleweight Championship. Though unsuccessful in his title pursuit, Lee expressed gratitude for the opportunity with MLW.
