Chelsea Green has been one of the standout rehires in WWE since Triple H took over creative control. She has become a regular feature in the Women’s Division, consistently entertaining fans with her performances.
Hence, it’s no surprise that industry veterans like former WWE star Layla have praised her. She recently commended both Chelsea Green and Piper Niven. The former champion stated that she admires their work and would love to face them if Michelle McCool and her were to return to WWE. The duo had their last match in WWE 4992 days ago before they split in 2011.
Chelsea responded to Layla’s remarks in a recent tweet, expressing interest in working with the former Women’s Champion.
“😏 count me in… @mslayel,” she wrote.
Layla was one of the prominent figures in the Women’s division during the Divas Era. Her tag team with Michelle McCool, LayCool, was one of the more popular teams. The duo could reunite and make a sensational return to WWE, where they would have a short program against Chelsea Green and Piper Niven.
Another WWE veteran recently hailed Chelsea Green
Chelsea Green has set her sights on becoming the first-ever Women’s United States Champion. She recently defeated Blair Davenport and Bianca Belair in a Triple Threat Match to advance to the semifinals of the ongoing U.S. Title Tournament.
During a review of the match on Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Smack Talk, Dutch Mantell praised Chelsea for her performance. He expressed his happiness at seeing her secure the victory and described Green as a star in the making. The veteran also reflected on how much he enjoyed working with her during their time together in TNA.
“I’m just happy she won it. She’s a star in the making. She’s going out there; they may be directing her a little bit, but that’s her. That’s what she’s going to do. I like the dress she wore out there. I did a wedding with her when I was with TNA when she got up and standing at the altar. It was hilarious. We dragged it out as long as we could. She was all heartbroken, she was still in her dress two weeks later. She hadn’t come out of the room. She was still crying… That got her over with me,” the veteran said.
It will be interesting to see what plans WWE has in store for Chelsea Green as the tournament progresses.
