Former WWE champion makes bold statement before her upcoming match against Nia Jax
A former WWE champion will get a title shot against Nia Jax next week. Ahead of this match, she made a bold statement about the current WWE Women’s Champion.
Since returning to the Stamford-based promotion, Naomi has made it clear that she wants to win the WWE Women’s Championship. She received a title shot against Bayley when the latter was champion but still came up short. However, she hasn’t given up on becoming a champ.
When The Irresistible Force won the title from Bayley at SummerSlam, Naomi was also involved in the storyline by helping out her friend. It now looks like she is ready for another chance to become champion. After getting involved in Nia’s match last week on SmackDown, she will challenge her for the title next week.
Ahead of this important match, Naomi appeared on SmackDown LowDown last week and said she is ready to become champion again.
“This is the only thing that’s been on my mind. I cannot wait to bully that bully. I’m not afraid, I’ve pinned her before, so I know I can do it again. And these opportunities don’t come often for me, so I just gotta give it everything and all I got. And on Friday, not only is it gonna be Friday Night Glow, it’s gonna be Friday Annihilation.” [1:35 – 1:56]
Nia Jax claims that Naomi is “obsessed” with her
Nia Jax hasn’t had the best time in the ring recently. She suffered a major loss to Liv Morgan at Crown Jewel and was pinned by Naomi a couple of weeks ago. To make matters worse, she now has to defend her title against Naomi next week on the blue brand.
The former TNA star has made the most of this opportunity to get into Nia’s head. Before last week’s episode of SmackDown, Naomi tweeted out that “Nia sucks”. This prompted the WWE Women’s Champion to respond, claiming that her future challenger was “obsessed” with her.
“You’re obsessed with me!” Nia’s tweet to Naomi.
