Former WWE champion reveals feelings of envy after Cody Rhodes defeats Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40

Seth Rollins admitted feeling envious after Cody Rhodes captured the Undisputed WWE Championship by defeating Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. During an interview with INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Rollins, who played a crucial role in Rhodes’ victory, shared his feelings about the moment.

Rollins, who partnered with Rhodes on Night One to face Roman Reigns and The Rock in a Tag Team Match, and later used The SHIELD’s theme music to distract Reigns in the main event, expressed his perspective:

I felt joy, probably a little bit of envy too. I was never the guy who got the ball in that way. For the last 10 years, it was Roman, most of the time, and then Cody comes back and gets that treatment too.

I always felt I could be that person, that I could be that guy, but it was never for me in the eyes of the decision makers. So, there’s that joy and happiness that we crossed a symbolic finish line, but certainly also some professional envy.

Possible scenario for Cody Rhodes to lose his title this year

Jonathan Coachman, former RAW General Manager, presented a possible route for John Cena to win his 17th World Championship. The plan includes a victory over Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

During The Coach & Bro Show, Coachman detailed his vision:

A few matches to shake off the ring rust, then a Premium Live Event appearance, followed by two months of build for a world title match. I believe it will be against Cody Rhodes.

During summer, when audiences typically decrease, that’s when you schedule most of his matches. At SummerSlam, he loses the title. Then, two or three more big matches and the final showdown at Survivor Series, against whoever he chooses.
