Former WWE Champion Warns John Cena About Royal Rumble Confrontation
In a BBC Scotland News interview, Drew McIntyre discusses potential Royal Rumble encounter with John Cena, highlighting his recent promo success against CM Punk.

Speaking to BBC Scotland News, Drew McIntyre addressed the possibility of facing John Cena during the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble match on February 1. McIntyre, who won the Royal Rumble in 2020, referenced his recent verbal exchanges with CM Punk.
On the microphone he has historically been king and if you check the awards I’ve won in the past year, when it comes to the microphone I’m the king now. I want to go toe-to-toe with him like I did CM Punk, and I crushed Punk, and then I’ll get him in the ring. I’ll shake his hand and say thanks for all he’s done, but get out. This is my world now, go entertain us in Hollywood.
Cena plans to retire from in-ring competition in late 2025, with speculation surrounding a potential historic 17th world championship victory at WrestleMania 41.
The 47-year-old performer has maintained a limited schedule since 2015, focusing on his acting career after serving as one of WWE’s premier full-time attractions following his 2002 main roster debut.
