Former WWE champion was reportedly told he will never wrestle again; diagnosed with a hole in his lung

A WWE veteran has spoken about how a former champion reportedly was told he had a hole in his lung. It led to him being told that he would never wrestle again.

Hiroko Suzuki spoke about how her husband, Kenzo, was diagnosed with a hole in his lung and was told that he would never wrestle again. She explained why they left WWE.

She said that they were disappointed, but for the second time in his life, Kenzo was told that he had a hole in his lung. As a result, the former tag team champion had to have surgery and ended up leaving the company in 2005.

They were distraught at the time as both of them loved the company. However, the doctors had told them that Kenzo would never wrestle again, which forced them to leave the company. Eventually, though, they were able to return to wrestling.

“At the time, he got a hole in his lung, sadly. This was the second time. When he was in New Japan wrestling, he got a hole in the lung, and suddenly, he couldn’t breathe and had to go to the ambulance. This is the second time it happened in Tampa, Florida. After the surgery, then we quit. Doctors say, ‘You will never wrestle again.’ We are so disappointed at the time. He loved WWE,” she said. (20:33 – 21:24)

Former WWE champion Kenzo Suzuki continued to wrestle even after leaving WWE.

While he had to take some time away following the surgery, Kenzo returned to the ring despite what the doctors said.

The star went on to have a career wrestling in Mexico and worked in AAA, Dragon Gate, and AJPW as well.

Hiroko, meanwhile, entered the world of politics instead and found her forte there. She is now established in the prefectures and the world of Japanese politics. It remains to be seen if she ever returns to wrestling.
