Former WWE Intercontinental Champion says things are unpredictable under Triple H: “I have no clue”

Triple H is WWE’s Chief Content Officer, the position mainly responsible for talent and the creative aspect. Former Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett recently described the company under The Game as “unpredictable” and explained why it’s a good thing.

When Vince McMahon resigned from WWE in July 2022, Triple H was announced as the new Chief Content Officer and Head of Creative a few months later. He has been in charge ever since, retaining the position when the company was sold to Endeavor last year.

Speaking to PWMania last week, RAW commentator Wade Barrett talked about the company’s success under The King of Kings and the difference in the creative process compared to the previous regime. The veteran said The Game’s era was all about “unpredictability,” highlighting the latter’s ability to “keep the audience guessing!”

“I love the fact that today I don’t know who’s going to be in the main event of the next premium live event. I have absolutely no clue what the card is going to look like. I don’t know if Cody Rhodes is going to be anywhere near the card; he might be left off, and he’s one of the biggest stars we’ve ever seen. I don’t know if Roman Reigns is going to be there; CM Punk might be back; I have no clue,” he said.

The former Intercontinental Champion said:

“That to me is really, really exciting, and I think that one of the key factors in the success of Triple H is his ability to keep the audience guessing and not be so formulaic. I love that as a fan of professional wrestling. It keeps me excited and keeps our fans intrigued, and to me, that’s the biggest difference of all of it. WWE’s popularity might be at an all-time high considering the mainstream crossover of stars such as Cody Rhodes, Liv Morgan, Seth Rollins, Damian Priest, and Roman Reigns, to name a few. RAW’s move to Netflix in January 2025 will put more eyeballs on the product as well.

Vince Russo claims Triple H will be gone from WWE next year

In a recent episode of his The Brand podcast, former WWE writer Vince Russo made an explosive claim.

The veteran claimed that Endeavor/TKO Group would get rid of every remnant of Vince McMahon from the company next year. Russo said that Triple H would get removed from his position, with Brian Gewirtz taking over.

“I think Hunter will be gone from the WWE in 2025. I’m sorry, these lawsuits are gonna develop. A lot more is gonna come out of them. Ari Emanuel has The Rock on the board. Ari Emanuel and The Rock have a very, very, very long relationship. You don’t think The Rock doesn’t have a laundry list of people that he’d want to hire and bring into the fold? Brian Gewirtz at the top of that list. I don’t really see a need for Triple H if Ari’s got The Rock in his back pocket!” [9:54-10:54]

Gewirtz is a former WWE writer and is currently a business partner of The Rock. He is the Senior Vice President of Development at The Final Boss’ entertainment company, Seven Bucks Production.
