Former WWE Star Reveals Indifference from Upper Management During McMahon Era (Exclusive)

Former WWE star EC3 recently spoke about the backstage culture during the Vince McMahon regime. The star worked with the company from 2009 to 2013 and then again from 2018 to 2020.

McMahon resigned from the company earlier this year after a lawsuit was filed against him by former WWE employee Janel Grant. The former CEO was accused of sexual harassment and trafficking.

In a recent episode of The Wrestling Outlaws, EC3 detailed that several people in the back were aware of his in-ring attributes but would never stand up for him. He pointed out, how under the Vince McMahon regime, the people backstage didn’t vouch for anyone because ultimately the 79-year-old did what he set his mind to.

“In the previous administration, I definitely knew that was a thing, especially if you wanted to vouch for somebody. I had a lot of people that liked me; I had a lot of people that knew I can do what I do; knew I can do what I do very well!” he said.

The 41-year-old added:

“But I didn’t have anyone stand up and say it, because for some reason, the person on top didn’t care for whatever I was doing. So no one would vouch for you; no one would take that risk; no one would want to get that bullet on [sic] the head. So that’s probably a hundred percent true!” [From 1:25 onwards]

Vince McMahon has managed to stay relevant despite his time away from the WWE. He was the subject of a groundbreaking Mr. McMahon docuseries on Netflix, showcasing the rise and fall of wrestling’s greatest promoter.

Recently, reports also emerged that the 79-year-old was planning to start an entertainment hub company based in Los Angeles, CA.
