GUNTHER drops CM Punk reference on WWE RAW amid feud with Damian Priest

GUNTHER made a subtle reference to CM Punk during a backstage segment with Ludwig Kaiser on Monday Night RAW. The Ring General incorporated lyrics from Punk’s entrance theme “Cult of Personality” into his dialogue.

“Look into my eyes. What do you see?” GUNTHER asked Kaiser, echoing the opening lines of Punk’s theme song. This reference gains significance considering Punk’s previous confrontation with Gunther following his victory over Drew McIntyre at Bash in Berlin.

The interaction comes as GUNTHER prepares to defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Damian Priest at Survivor Series: WarGames. Last week, both competitors faced off in the ring, with Kaiser intervening in their confrontation.

The connection between GUNTHER and Punk dates back to when Punk challenged for the World Heavyweight Championship. After defeating McIntyre in a Strap Match, Punk declared his intentions for GUNTHER’s championship before McIntyre reignited their rivalry.

GUNTHER signals new direction for Ludwig Kaiser in Imperium

During the same backstage segment, GUNTHER delivered a decisive message to Kaiser about his role in Imperium.

“You do not speak for me. You need to realize who YOU are and make a name for YOURself,” GUNTHER told his longtime ally.

Kaiser responded immediately to this directive by interfering in the Intercontinental Championship bout between Bron Breakker and Sheamus. His actions caused the match to end in a no-contest, marking his first significant move as a singles competitor since separating from Giovanni Vinci.
