CM Punk gave the WWE Universe a huge viral moment a couple of days ago. The Voice of the Voiceless was seen coming to the aid of Damian Priest while wearing a towel and a shower cap. The clip drew massive numbers for the company on social media.
Speaking during a recent episode of Live Q&A on Backstage Pass, JBL shared his thoughts on CM Punk’s viral WWE live event run-in. The Hall of Famer praised Punk for his ability to entertain fans, saying it appears the Straight Edge Superstar was enjoying his current run with the company.
“Right, that that’s an old spot, but I’m not taking away from it. I mean, that was it was awesome. I knew that real fans today haven’t seen it. You know what’s old is new. And he looked like he was having so much freaking fun.”
He continued:
“I saw him on some social media clip in the house show, live event, whatever you want to call it. He was doing the (Ultimate) Warrior shake on the ropes. He did the the Cena, you can’t see me. He’s just having a ball out there and fans have got to be eating this up like crazy.” [43:36 onwards]
CM Punk and Seth Rollins capped off the final WWE RAW of 2024 and cable television with an intense promo exchange. Both men will headline the red brand’s debut on Netflix on January 6.
