A major star recently renewed his rivalry at Wrestle Dynasty. He has now teased bringing this feud to Tony Khan’s company.
Katsuyori Shibata is one of the best Japanese wrestlers in the world. He is known for his intensity and fierce nature which has made him a fan favorite for all these years. Shibata first made a name for himself under the NJPW banner where he wrestled for several years. During this time, he was engaged in a fierce rivalry with one of the top stars in the promotion – Hiroshi Tanahashi.
The two men faced each other several times over the years in various matches. They decided to renew their rivalry in a five-minute exhibition match at Wrestle Dynasty this weekend. As expected both men wrestled to a draw. Given his competitive nature, Katsuyori Shibata expressed his disappointment at the result and suggested they continue this rivalry in AEW:
“Five minutes is too short for us. I think this needs to be continued in AEW.”
Tony Khan sent a message after Wrestle Dynasty
Wrestle Dynasty 2025 was one of the most highly anticipated PPVs in recent months and featured stars from NJPW, AEW, and CMLL. There were several high-profile matches announced for the show. One of the biggest matches of the night saw the return of Kenny Omega to the ring. The Cleaner competed in a brutal match against Gabe Kidd and won.
Following the conclusion of the show, Tony Khan took to social media to showcase his excitement for Omega’s return and express his gratitude to the fans for making Wrestle Dynasty a success.
