"I'm still pi*sed off" - Goldberg vents frustrations over shocking title loss

WCW veteran and WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg recently spoke about how his undefeated streak came to an abrupt end. The star was one of the major attractions in WCW back in the day.

Goldberg was the WCW World Champion and had a stellar record of 173-0 heading into Starrcade 1998. However, he took his first loss to Kevin Nash at the event. nWo member Scott Hall took out the champ with a cattle prod allowing Nash to hit the Jackknife Powerbomb for the win.

The Hall of Famer was recently in an exclusive interview with Inside The Ropes and spoke about how his streak ended. He claimed that he wanted a more vicious tazer for the spot. The veteran wanted to make the loss seem more dramatic with barbs sticking out of him. He was irate that WCW didn’t go in that direction.

“The cattle prod thing was my idea. But it wasn’t a cattle prod. It was the one that shoots in you and lights you up like a freaking Christmas tree. That’s the one I wanted, that’s my idea. Because if you beat me, you have to put 50,000 volts through me. But for some reason, they didn’t to do that. Hence the goofy-looking cattle prod. But I wanted them to shoot the barbs in me and light me up. Just FYI. That’s the truth, the true story. I’m still pi*sed off.” [From 0:01 – 0:40]

Goldberg will have his final match in 2025

Earlier this month, Bill Goldberg appeared on ESPN’s SEC Nation to talk about his career. The 57-year-old wrestling veteran detailed that he had a conversation with Triple H about his last match and the Chief Content Officer had granted his request for one final match.

At Bad Blood, World Heavyweight Champion Gunther almost came face-to-face with the Hall of Famer as he hurled insults towards Goldberg. The veteran was irate and hoped the barricade to confront The Ring General.
