Former WWE Champion John Cena will make his appearance on the premiere episode of RAW on Netflix. A new update has surfaced that seemingly reveals the company’s plans for The Franchise Player’s Farewell Tour.
The Cenation Leader’s retirement tour begins on January 6, 2025, with his appearance on the red brand’s debut episode on Netflix. The multi-time World Champion has already confirmed that he will be a part of the upcoming Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber premium live events.
According to the latest report from Fightful Select via PW Chronicle, WWE has planned “very heavily” to factor John Cena into “major plans” during his Retirement Tour this year.
Former WWE star comments on having a conversation with John Cena about his retirement tour
Current AEW star Adam Copeland (fka Edge) and The Face That Runs The Place had countless encounters throughout their professional wrestling careers. Notably, the Rated-R Superstar won his first world championship after defeating John Cena in 2006.
During an interview with ScreenRant, Edge revealed a brief conversation he had with John Cena upon his previous return to WWE. The former AEW TNA Champion emphasized The Cenation Leader’s thoughtful approach to his career and stated that the latter has likely been mentally preparing for retirement for some time:
“No, but we had talked briefly when he came back there, and I was with WWE, and he said, ‘How are you doing this, man? You’re having half an hour matches and stuff.’ We haven’t talked about retiring or anything like that. John is a very… He’s thought this through. He’s thought of every scenario and every conceivable direction and all of those things. He’s an intelligent man, so, I’m sure he has already come to terms and I think he’s been coming to terms with it for a long time. I think it’ll be harder for the fan base to come to terms, which usually ends up being the case,” Cope said.
