“It is a money grab” – WWE veteran bashes John Cena’s major announcement on RAW (Exclusive)

Former WWE head writer Vince Russo recently discussed John Cena‘s appearance on Monday Night RAW. The 16-time world champion kicked off his farewell tour this week.

John Cena addressed the fans, claiming this year would be his last in the ring. He acknowledged his losing streak in singles matches and clarified that the 17th World Championship may never happen. However, The Cenation Leader mentioned that miracles could still happen and announced himself for the Royal Rumble this year.

This week on Legion of RAW, Vince Russo explained that the whole farewell tour was a ruse to get fans to attend shows. He felt Cena left a hook for the WWE Universe, claiming that despite his losing streak in singles matches, miracles could still happen, and he could win the elusive 17th World Championship.

“If you’re standing there saying there’s no way I’m gonna be able to win this, that, and the other thing, but it’s a farewell tour. What is a farewell tour? It is a money grab. I can definitely see the connection there.” [From 34:50 onwards]
