Wrestling analyst Sam Roberts addressed speculation about a potential Triple H return match following his confrontation with Kevin Owens at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
“All I can think about is this idea that can you imagine, it’s not gonna happen, I don’t think it’s gonna happen, but Triple H having one last match, and it being against Kevin Owens?” Roberts said on Notsam Wrestling. “Is the Kevin Owens that we saw show up on WWE after being in NXT, answer the John Cena open challenge and pin John Cena on a pay-per-view, fresh off of NXT, this is the same Kevin Owens that brought Stone Cold Steve Austin out of retirement to main event one more WrestleMania against him. John Cena, Stone Cold Steve Austin, adding Triple H to that list. I mean, my god, my god. I don’t think it’s gonna happen, but it was so crazy to just see hints of it.”
The confrontation occurred after Owens delivered a package piledriver to Cody Rhodes following their Undisputed WWE Championship match. Rhodes retained the title when referee Charles Robinson was inadvertently knocked out during a potential winning moment for Owens.
Triple H retired at WrestleMania 38 due to health concerns following a cardiac event. His final match was an Unsanctioned bout against Randy Orton on RAW in January 2021.
Rhodes has been diagnosed with axial compression of the cervical spine and cervical strain with spasm. Owens currently possesses the Winged Eagle championship belt.
