“It’s just a no-brainer” – Major recent change in Gunther has ‘shown a different side’ says veteran; Triple H decision lauded
A wrestling veteran lauded Triple H for making a recent change in Gunther’s character. Magnum T.A. was impressed with the way The Ring General was presented this past Monday on WWE RAW.
The reigning World Heavyweight Champion opened the show with a confrontation with the number one contender, Damian Priest. The two are set to collide at Survivor Series: WarGames, but The Archer of Infamy seemingly got into Gunther’s head. He appeared to show some doubt and vulnerability, something that had not happened before.
Speaking on the Straight Talk With The Boss podcast, Magnum T.A. was impressed by how The Ring General showed weakness. The legendary wrestler called it “unique” and a “different side” that would make the title match at Survivor Series more interesting.
“I think it’s unique because they brought a different element out in Gunther. They’ve shown that he has a vulnerability. He’s not just the war machine that can go out there and systematically dismantle everyone. I mean, Cody holds that victory over him now for the the last pay-per-view they had and he shown that he can be outwrestled, I guess is the right word. Given the opportunity so and it’s given you know Damian’s coming on real aggressive and play and leaning into that, which is the right thing to do. I mean, you got to paint the picture to people that there’s an opportunity for being a contest and there may be a change. Because there’s no if, it’s just a no-brainer,” Magnum T.A. said. Damian Priest was one step ahead of the World Champion after mentioning the loss to Cody Rhodes at WWE Crown Jewel earlier this month. It also might have created a rift between the Austrian behemoth and his right-hand man, Ludwig Kaiser.
Gunther reaches 100 days as World Heavyweight Champion
The last time Gunther held a championship in WWE, his reign as Intercontinental Champion lasted for 666 days. Now that he’s the World Heavyweight Champion, The Ring General reached the 100-day milestone earlier this week. He’s closing in on Damian Priest for the second-longest championship reign in the title’s history.
It will be very interesting to see if his reign will last past Survivor Series: WarGames when he defends the title against Damian Priest.
