With his WWE farewell tour past the halfway mark, John Cena promises the most compelling moments are still to come. The current Undisputed WWE Champion recently spoke with Page Six at the Heads of State NYC premiere, providing an update on his final run. While reaffirming a mid-December target for his last match, he noted a final location has not been decided.
Cena’s farewell tour began on the January 6 premiere of WWE RAW on Netflix. The campaign has already featured significant moments, including his final appearances in the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber matches. He has also had final encounters with top stars like Randy Orton, R-Truth, and CM Punk. The most notable event of the tour occurred 76 days ago at WrestleMania 41, where Cena captured the Undisputed WWE Championship from Cody Rhodes and executed a long-awaited heel turn.
This sets the stage for a championship rematch between Cena and Rhodes at the inaugural two-night SummerSlam next month. The event is scheduled for August 1 and 2 at MetLife Stadium. Despite the major developments so far, Cena teased that the storyline is just getting started.
“Well, I don’t want to down-play the action in WWE, there’s always a bunch of action over there, and yes, I’m 48… my last match will be in mid-December. We’re still trying to find out a place to do it, but I… I said 36 dates in January, we’re half-way through, and it’s… gosh, it’s been a lot of compelling TV, and I don’t want to spoil it for anybody, but I think we’re just getting started,” John Cena said.

Cena’s schedule for the remainder of the year includes several international dates. He is scheduled for appearances in Canada, Ireland, France, and Australia, including premium live events such as Clash in Paris in August and Crown Jewel in October. While his final match is slated for December, the specific date and venue remain unannounced.
