WWE Superstar John Cena is set to make his return at RAW’s Netflix Premiere on January 6. Ahead of his appearance on the red brand’s show, The Cenation Leader shared a message for fans via a social media update.
The 47-year-old made a surprise appearance at WWE Money in the Bank 2024 and announced his retirement from in-ring competition by the end of 2025. Before hanging up his boots, the 16-time World Champion will compete full-time for one final run, starting this Monday. He is part of a stacked lineup of stars set to appear on Monday Night RAW’s debut on Netflix.
Earlier today, John Cena took to his X (fka Twitter) account to share a cryptic message. The veteran mentioned the importance of forgiveness in one’s journey toward their goals.
“In a season of new ideas, resolutions, optimism, challenge, maybe a dash of reflection, and the hope for the year ahead try leaning into forgiveness. Forgiveness of self and others is a great strategy to clearing the road ahead towards the goals you strive for,” he wrote.

Current WWE Champion opens up about potentially facing John Cena upon the latter’s in-ring return
Ever since Cena announced his Farewell Tour, several performers have expressed their desire to face him. Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes also opened up about potentially going up against the veteran.
During his appearance at the Fanatics Fest in New York City earlier this year, The American Nightmare was asked if he wanted to be Cena’s first opponent in 2025. Rhodes stated that he learned everything he could from Cena, and it would be an honor for him to wrestle against the former WWE Champion.
“We get to live in this era. […] He is definitely a man of his word. When he says it’s farewell, it truly is farewell. So, if you’ve [not] got the Farewell Tour T-shirt, go and get it. I drove around John for a year, and I learned everything I possibly could. [I] didn’t realize I was learning so much at the time. It would be the honor of my life to wrestle John Cena in any capacity. He’s the GOAT for a reason,” he said.
